This is an interesting article.  With unexpected content.  And, in a broad way, quite salient to our blog’s preoccupations.  It was published at something called SCIENCE BLOGGING, and suggests that some of our long-held preconceptions about the impact of European expansion on the New World are actually quite questionable or even unsound.  Not unrelatedly, the deep history of forest fire is touched upon in the piece’s closing paragraphs.  Interesting stuff.  (Read at source.)
