Labrador’s bill under consideration by House committee today

Divided-Lands-coverEditor’s note:  “A U.S. House committee will take up Congressman Raul Labrador’s Self-Sufficient Community Lands Act today despite some resistance from conservation groups.” So began Jeff Selle’s article (published Feb. 25th) in the COEUR D’ALENE PRESS on the Idaho congressman’s forests lands management reform bill.  Notable, I thought, was that Labrador made reference to the recently published PERC study highlighting the relative success of state, as contrasted with federal, forest management practices.  We’ll be watching, with interest, for reports of the outcome of the House committee’s deliberations.
